Relaxing Views

This elegant second home was created for a busy couple who works in the city and retreats to the country on the weekends. Their true goals included keeping the spaces minimal and maintaining the serenity of the views around them. Between the views of the trees to the zen area in front of their huge fish tank, we were able to create a relaxing space where the clients could put their feet up, relax and put to rest the stresses of the day.

To achive this atmosphere, our team brought in sleek fabrics and furniture with curves. The blue tones and vanilla shades with taupe accents carried through the softness and peacefulness desired. In the powder room, we brought in a light colored seafoam wall and textured it with glass beads that were placed to reflect the movement of waves. In the child’s room, a murphy bed was designed to not only keep the space airy, but to also have plenty of play room for Dad and their child. In the sitting area, the focal wall was faux painted various shades of blues and sandy taupes to look like an organic water texture. In that area, we placed a comfortable recliner and swivels for a more intimate conversation area. The coffee table chosen reflects a piece of rock that feels like it would be collected from the bottom of the sea or a nearby cliff. In the adjacent area, the curved sofa was custom made to allow for the space and height to cover up a nearby bar piece. Each space in this unit was simple and uncluttered, using fine materials and elegant forms to achieve the desired serenity for this busy family.
