Turning a bad experience into something positive is what created Onyi’s interest in becoming a Realtor. She learned more about real estate than expected when she and her husband bought a home about 5 years ago. The representation on their transaction required Onyi to get into action and run interference in order to get the deal done. That experience coins one of Onyi’s strong suits, which is thinking outside the box. Her inquisitive nature leads to innovative marketing intended to capture the interest of her current and future clients. She combines this ability with empathy because she understands that buying and selling a home is an emotional venture. She said, “No one buys anything that doesn’t speak to who they are.” She finds out what that missing quotient is and wows the client who then becomes a lifelong advocate.
Relating back to thinking outside the box, Onyi enjoys working in real estate because no two days are ever the same. She says, “To maintain success as a Realtor, thinking quickly on your feet is a must”. She enjoys residential sales and when asked which clients she is most comfortable assisting, she quips upsizers and downsizers. In other words, pretty much the whole spectrum of homeowners.
Onyi grew up in Katy and attended Baylor University. Her geographic focus is, naturally, Katy+ Richmond and booming Fulshear. In her leisure time she enjoys getting away from the hustle by lifting weights and reading. However, looking back, she’s happy that the first real estate experience was less than optimum.
