She soon discovered that proficiency as a licensed realtor complemented her design skills. As a 3rd generation Houstonian who has lived and worked in the inner loop for 35 years, she knows the city and surrounding suburbs intimately well and decided to combine her design expertise with real estate. Her role as Managing Broker for a local boutique real estate agency opened new horizons for combining real estate, design and remodeling services under the umbrella of Coton House Realty.
Laurie and her family are advocates of rescued animals. She also enjoys butterfly gardening, travel as time permits, reading, exploring the new coffee shops and restaurants for which Houston is well-known and, most of all, spending time with family and pets.
Laurie is on the Board of ASID as the Finance Chair, member of HIREBA – Houston Independent Real Estate Brokers Association, GHBA member, on the HAR Professional Development Committee, is Chair of Continuing Education for ASID, is a member of the Rice Design Alliance, on an ASID peer group and also a member of the River Oaks Networking Group. She has also been active with board positions with St. John’s School, AFS, Zoo Friends and River Oaks Elementary.
